Resilio Connect v2.8.0 comes with the following new features:
Measuring network bandwidth between Agents
The Connect admin can now select two Agents and measure in real-time the network bandwidth available between them. This will help to set realistic expectations on file transfer speeds. Read more about network diagnostics here.
Detailed connectivity map of Agents
Within a job run each Agent shows detailed information about the other Agents it's connected to, what channel remote Agents were discovered through, all possible network tunnels, and the best tunnel selected for the transfer. Read more about connectivity details here.
Detailed Agent activity
When transferring files, an Agent performs a number of background operations. These are now revealed in the Agent's details located in the “Job Run”. Admins can see exactly what the Agent is doing with the files at a given moment. Read more about the detailed activity here.
New authorization mechanism for connecting Agents to the Management Console
It's now possible to connect new Agents to the Management Console by simply specifying the address of the Console (no sync.conf file is necessary). With this feature, Admins can approve new Agents before they connect to the Management Console. Read more about the approval mechanism here.
Force full rescan of Job directories
This is a new way for Agents to discover new or updated files in the Job folders. Admins no longer have to rely on filesystem notifications or wait for periodic folder scan. Read more here.
Automatic sorting of Agents in Groups
Based on an Agent tag, it’s now possible to automatically add newly connected Agents to a group or rearrange all connected Agents. Also, seamless moving of Agent(s) from one group to another is supported, without having to delete the Agent from a group prior to the move. Read more here.
Support for SMTP with anonymous login
Management console now allows configuring mail notifications through SMTP servers that don’t require authentication. For better Security, Customers should, where possible, always use authenticated SMTP. Read more about configuring mail notifications here.
Change speed units to bits per second in Console UI
To conform with conventional units of speed, the Management Console shows speed in bits per second (Kbps, Mbps or Gbps) on all speed graphs, speed reports and bandwidth schedulers.
Support for secure TLS connection between Agents and Console
Now all connections between Agents and between the Agents and Management Console can be secured with TLS with support of perfect forward secrecy. Read more about configuring TLS encryption here.
