Once you start Resilio Management Console, it requests license to be installed. Once you've received your license file, just save it to your disk, click the "Upload a new license" button and choose the license file in the file picker dialog.
Another way is to apply it using a file manager:
- Make sure that the license file is named "license.syncit"
- Put the license file to the /data/license folder of your Resilio Management Console installation ("license" folder might need to be created manually). Data folder location:
- Restart the Console if it is already running
If you receive a new license key (with new features, for example), you can activate it using either of the methods.
Starting with Resilio Connect v.2.9.1, a new licensing scheme can be used, not compulsory though. If there are different Agent packages (types) with different features in the license key, these need to be assigned to Agents manually. If there's only one Agent package (type), no manual assignment needs to be done, since this one Agent package will become the default type and automatically be assigned to any new Agent that gets added (see below).
This new license type can only be used on Management Console version 2.9.1 and newer. After the license has been applied, the Administrator needs to manage the license package and assign them to the Agents, as needed. Only SuperAdmin can upload a new license, and any user with full access to agents can change license packages for agents.

The License Package with the most seats, is considered to be the 'default package' and is automatically assigned to all Agents, prioritized by alphabet. If the package runs out of seats, other agents remain "unlicensed" and the Administrator needs to assign a new license package manually.
The Administrator can change the default package if necessary.
For newly connected Agents, the license package shall be assigned when giving approval.
If the Agent connects with agent config, the default license package is applied. Same as above, if the default package does not have enough seats, the agents will connect as 'unlicensed' and the admin needs to manually assign some license package.
At any time admin can change the assigned package for an Agent.
This can be done from the AGENTS tab, or through Management Console settings -> Licensing.
Management Consoles prior to 2.9.1 cannot apply the new license key and will continue to use their legacy License. Management Console's 2.9.1 and above, can continue to use their legacy license. The only new 2.9 Features that require the new License Key Type are the new Zero Gravity Transport Protocol and the use of Object Storage.
Agents v 2.8.x can have a new license package assigned, but they won't be able to use any of the new features.
